Kaneka develops super heat-resistant PI film for 5G millimeter wave zones

Kaneka Corporation announced to develop gPixeo IBh, a super heat-resistant polyimide (PI) film for high-speed, high frequency 5G. The offering of samples began in October, and a full-scale rollout is scheduled for 2021.

Pixeo IB reduces the dielectric loss tangent in high frequencies down to 0.0025, the global best level for PI film. This makes possible the handling of 5G millimeter wave zones, which can realize high speed communications.

Canon releases FPD lithography equipment that achieves 1.2m resolution and supports exposure of small-and mid-size displays

Canon announced that the company has commenced sales of the MPAsp-E903T, a new flat panel display (FPD) lithography system that is capable of resolving 1.2m (L/S) features across Generation 6 glass panels and supports the production of higher-definition next-generation small-and medium-size displays.

The MPAsp-E903T is the first FPD lithography system to utilize a deep ultra-violet (DUV) broadband light source. Leveraging the advantage of its Mirror Projection Optical System, which minimizes chromatic aberration even if wavelengths change, the system employs a new light source that realizes shorter wavelengths than ultraviolet light that has been used thus far, and thanks to a newly developed projection optical system the MPAsp-E903T makes possible resolving power of 1.2m. What's more, resolving power of 1m is also achievable through the use of such ultra-high-resolution technologies as phase shift masks.

Thanks to an improved component layout and temperature control system, the MPAsp-E903T achieves a high overlay accuracy of } 0.25m.

SCREEN Launches Coater/Developer for Forming Process of CF for Rollable and Foldable OLED

SCREEN Finetech Solutions (SCREEN FT) announced to develop the SK-F1500H, a new coater/developer specially designed for the film forming process of color filters with anti-reflective properties. These color filters are intended for use in flexible organic EL displays (OLEDs) with structures that are rollable or foldable. SCREEN FT expects the SK-F1500H to make a significant contribution to the improvement of yield rates for OLED panels.

The SK-F1500H is designed to form CF films on the substrates with an OLED luminescent layer. It is able to achieve outstanding efficiency by executing the entire process from coating through development of CF films in a single integrated line.

The coating section incorporates SCREEN FT's Levicoater slit-type coating unit, featuring a levitating conveyor system. The proprietary substrate transfer technology enables continuous processing of two sixth generation half-substrates.
