The Japan Society of Applied Physics cancells the 67th JSAP Spring Meeting 2020

Considering the global concerns over the new coronavirus outbreak as well as the press release to event organizers from Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, The Japan Society of Applied Physics announced to cancel the 67th JSAP Spring Meeting 2020, which was scheduled from March 12 (Wed.) to 15 (Sun.) at Yotsuya Campus, Sophia University.

JDI exhibits at 28th 3D & Virtual Reality Expo

Japan Display (JDI) announced to exhibit its free roam VR system, which incorporates JDI VR head-mounted displays (product name VRM-100), at the 28th 3D & Virtual Reality Expo. This expo, which will be held February 26 (Wed.)-28 (Fri.), 2020, at Makuhari Messe, is a specialized exhibition within the Manufacturing World Japan 2020.

Free roam VR refers to a multi-participant type of VR in which multiple users can move around the same space. Unlike traditional VR, which only single individuals can experience, free roam VR is applicable to various operations that require team work, making advanced training possible. JDI provides high-quality training solutions by reproducing special situations, such as natural disasters (earthquakes, etc.) and terrorist attacks, in a VR space and combining this with a system that multiple people can experience.

Murata Manufacturing Completion Ceremony for New Production Facility of Murata Electronics (Malaysia)

Murata Electronics (Malaysia), a production subsidiary of Murata Manufacturing, recently completed construction of a production facility that was started in October 2018, and a completion ceremony was held on Wednesday, February 12 (local time).

Total floor area is 23,007 m2. Total investment is 4 billion yen (building only).

Shin-Etsu Chemical announced to start marketing materials that will be used in the manufacturing process of MicroLED displays.

The materials that Shin-Etsu Chemical has newly developed and begun to market are the following:‡@A MicroLED transfer stamp that has formed a dry adhesion layer free of an adhesive agent on the ultra-flat substrate.‡AA temporary support substrate that will make possible various processes such as cleaning processes and transfer processes while holding the substrate.
