JDI agreed with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking, Mizuho Bank, and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank about period of commitment line agreement

Japan Display (JDI) announced that JDI has agreed with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking, Mizuho Bank, and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, and INCJ that the period of the commitment line agreement entered into on August 3, 2018 between JDI and the Banking Syndicate, with joint and several guarantee by INCJ will be extended since the Commitment Line Agreement will expire on August 7, 2019.1.

The University of Tokyo and AGC to Commence Collaborative Research Utilizing the University of Tokyo Institute for Open Innovation

AGC and the University of Tokyo announced to utilize the University of Tokyo's Institute for Open Innovation to commence the institute's first large-scale collaborative research project. The industry-academia collaborative research will start this August with the aim of generating new business.

TEL and BRIDG:Next Generation Process, Tool, and Device Development Partnership

Tokyo Electron (TEL) announced a partnership with BRIDG to develop tool and process technology needed to further enable collaborative approaches for development-to-commercialization of technologies and applications that accelerate commercialization of emerging technologies.

BRIDG operates a versatile 109,000-square-feet manufacturing facility, including approximately 60,000 square feet of cleanroom laboratory/manufacturing space, that offers production process technologies, R&D capabilities, and 200mm microelectronics fabrication geared toward system miniaturization, device integration, hardware security, and product development key to aerospace/defense and the IoT/AI revolution.

Through this partnership, technology development by the TEL team at BRIDG along with the execution and demonstration of new technologies and tools conducted at BRIDG along with BRIDG's tools and engineering team will drive 200mm processing technology to the next level.

Sumitomo Chemical and Isorg announced partnership to develop organic photodetectors

Isorg, a pioneer in organic photodetectors (OPDs) and large-area image sensors, and Sumitomo Chemical, a global leader in OPD materials production and other fields, announced their agreement to develop new OPD products for use as smartphone fingerprint sensors and hybrid organic CMOS image sensors.

This agreement expands the existing collaboration between Sumitomo Chemical and Isorg that began in 2013. Isorg will license its technology processes to its OEMs, while Sumitomo Chemical will manufacture the dedicated organic semiconductor material, as well as support Isorg in terms of production technology and marketing.
