Sumitomo Chemical to Build a New Plant of High-Purity Chemicals for Semiconductors in China

Sumitomo Chemical announced to built a plant at Sumika Electronic Materials (Changzhou) a recently-incorporated company in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, to produce high-purity chemicals for semiconductors. The new facility, the Company's second high-purity chemicals facility in China after its first plant in Xi'an, is scheduled to start commercial production in March 2019.

SCREEN Develops Specialized Systems for OLED Panel Production
Launches First Coater/Developers for 6th Generation Substrates

SCREEN Finetech Solutions announced to develop E series equipment for the production of OLED panels.

The SK-E1500G and SK-E1500H, the first two specialized coater/developer systems specifically developed for 6th generation substrates, will be released as part of its new E series lineup. The SK-E1500G is designed for use in OLED backplane manufacturing while the SK-E1500H is intended for touch sensor panel (TSP) production processes. The models will be available from this November.

Mitsui Mining & Smelting Additional Increase in Production Capacity of Ultra-Thin Copper Foil with Carrier

Mitsui Mining & Smelting announced that it decided to increase the monthly production capacity of ultra-thin copper foil with carrier (MicroThin) to 3.9 million m2.

The company increases the monthly MicroThin production capacity at the Malaysian plant (Mitsui Copper Foil (Malaysia) to 2.4 million m2 from November 2018. As a consequence, total monthly production capacity of the MicroThin, including that of its Ageo plant, will rise to 3.9 million m2.

Tokyo Electron Miyagi Starts Construction of a New Development Building

Tokyo Electron Miyagi announced to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a new development building to be constructed within the company's factory premises. The new development building is scheduled to be completed in September 2018.
