Zeon establish a sales company of highly functional materials in USA

Zeon announced to establish a sales company of highly functional materials in California State, USA. The new company gZeon Specialty Materials lnc.h will turn over Zeon Chemicals's enterprise, and then, starts sales and marketing on January, 2018.

Zeon group relegates four enterprises (highly functional resin, highly functional component, battery material, and electronics material) to the new company.

Teijin sells equity interests in film business joint ventures

Teijin announced that it has decided to co-sell with E.I.du Pont de Nemours and Company (DuPont) all of the equity interests the Company owns in the film business joint ventures in the U.S., Europe and China.

The three parties have agreed that the Company will co-sell with DuPont all of the Company's equity interests in DuPont Teijin Films U.S. Limited Partnership, DuPont Teijin Films Luxemburg S.A., DuPont Teijin Films UK Limited, DuPont Teijin Films China Limited, which are joint ventures with DuPont and equity-method affiliates of the Company, to Indorama Netherlands B.V., effective after obtaining appropriate regulatory approvals in each country.

Epson to Invest 16 Billion Yen in New Building at Hirooka Office

Seiko Epson announced to invest approximately 16 billion yen to build a new building (Innovation Center Building B) on the campus of its Hirooka Office, in the city of Shiojiri in Nagano, Japan. The new building, which will house a factory for prototyping and volume-producing large commercial and industrial printing systems and a test laboratory for digital textile printing, is part of Epson's mid-term plans to grow its printing solutions business.

Innovation Center Building B will have a total floor area of 37,650 m2. The first floor will house the factory and test laboratory, while the second and third floors will be an office area. Construction work is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2018 and operations are expected to begin in around March 2020. Epson expects the new building to yield benefits by reinforcing its research and development capabilities and production technology in the commercial and industrial printing domain. The company also expects to benefit from greater operational efficiency by bringing all relevant departments under the same roof.
